On August 25, the varsity boys played their first game against Concordia. Despite the seniors attending senior retreat, the boys still beat Concordia 4-1.
Volleyball team co-captain senior Tom Claassen noted that the boys are picking up from where they left off last APAC. Having lost only two players, the boys are “looking good for the season on and off the court.”
They had their second win of the season on September 1 against a local team, to whom they had previously lost last year. “After coming second [in APAC] for the previous three years, we’ll definitely be fighting to end the season on top,” Claassen added happily. Varsity boys’ coach Mr. John Veitche, high school PHE teacher, said they’re “looking fantastic because it’s basically the same team.” This year’s China Cup is this coming weekend at home. Those results will be in the next issue. |
