This weekend, the JV girls’ rugby team will be heading the International School of Beijing for their China Cup tournament.

The JV team had their first game September 8 against the SAS Pudong team.  It was a friendly practice game away at SAS Pudong. Coach Hope Meyers, high school social studies teacher, said “there were not too many bumps and bruises, so I consider that a win.”
It is a new start for the JV girls’ rugby this year.  Ms. Myers said that “rugby tryouts have been the largest turnout in three years.  It’s a mixture of veterans and a lot of new people.”  This year’s girls’ rugby team was described as “fun and enthusiastic” by Ms. Myers.  Mr. Greg Israel, high school economics teacher, is the second coach for the girls’ JV rugby team.
