 Nicole Tan | Varsity Female Athlete Of the Week: Nicole Tan-Varsity Tennis On Thursday afternoon and evening, she played tennis in exhibition matches at the Shanghai Masters professional tennis tournament. She qualified for the finals in both girls singles, and also in mixed doubles. Then, on Saturday, the SAS varsity team played in the Shanghai SISAC tennis tournament. Nicole played very well and won first place in girls singles for SISAC. The finals were a close and hard fought match which she won in a tie-breaker. This is the second year in a row that Nicole has won first place for girls singles in the SISAC tournament. Her performance was also a big contribution in leading the entire team to a second place finish in that tournament. |
| JV Male Athlete of the Week:D Daniel Tey -JV 1 Boys Volleyball A quiet leader on and off the court. Continues to learn and improve at his position of Middle Hitter/Blocker. Natasha Yen was superb in our two matches this week. Natasha's passing and multiple kills were key in the games, both wins, and she served up several aces in the matches as well. Natasha always has a great attitude whether on or off the court, and is a great asset to the team.
