SAS Puxi junior varsity baseball saw a player turnout at team tryouts this year that was much greater than that of last year, perhaps indicating a surge in the popularity of baseball at SAS.
“We have a lot of fresh talent on the JV team, so I am quite excited for us this season. However, I must say that there is much work to be done,” noted team captain senior June Shin Lee, one of only four returning members on the team.
“We have a lot of potential since we have so many new players, and I think that we’re going to build a very strong team.”
The JV boys will play in the China Cup tournament on September 21-23, which will take place at Hong Kong International School. The results of the tournament will be in the next issue.
